Land & Community Acknowledgement
Civic Leadership Lab acknowledges that we live and work on the traditional and ancestral lands of Indigenous peoples who have stewarded these lands across generations. We honor the enduring presence, cultures, leadership, and sovereignty of Indigenous communities and recognize that civic systems and institutions have often been shaped by histories of colonization, displacement, exclusion, and inequity.
As part of our commitment to civic leadership and community transformation, we seek to support practices of learning, accountability, relationship-building, and decolonial reflection that challenge systems of oppression and center the voices, experiences, and leadership of historically marginalized communities.
We believe decolonization is not simply symbolic acknowledgment, but an ongoing practice of examining power, rebuilding relationships, supporting community self-determination, and creating more equitable and participatory systems for future generations.
